Decorative Indoor Inscriptions (Debbane Iwan)

The inscriptions used in this project are in general door inscriptions, or they are at least outdoor dating inscriptions. Few are decorative but there main purpose is not decorative. But inscriptions, historically, were not always dating inscriptions. Some where definatley decorative.

The bellow 3D model of the iwan (main living room) of The Debbane Palace, an ottoman complex that is inside the old city.1 The palace now functions as a museum, but it's iwan's inscriptions, carved in wood, serve as a perfect example of indoor decorative inscriptions.

Feel free to explore them below!2
