Workshop Safety Warnings (Chemicals & Tools)

The printing press, while simple, has the potential to injure you if you are not careful, or fail to follow instructions. Here are some simple steps that will keep you safe:

While printing:

• Follow all instructions given to you in print, or delivered by lecturer
• While operating the printing press, go slow, and do not rush steps that involve tightening, closing, or lifting materials
• When handling chemicals (printing ink, cleaning liquids, etc.) do not apply to areas or materials unless instructed otherwise
• Do not apply chemicals to your person, especially the eyes, mouth, or nose – these chemicals can be toxic if ingested
